Former US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro is determined to offer a stiff test to Andy Murray in the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

Del Potro thrashed Tomy Haas 6-1 6-2 to set up a last-eight clash with the current US Open champion, while Murray saw off Carlos Berlocq 7-6 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals.

I served well and that's what I need to do against Murray in the next round.

Murray is 2/5 to see off Del Potro and reach the semi-finals and is 11/10 to win in straight sets, while the Scot is 1000/1 to win the tournament for the first time in his career.

With Murray holding a 5-1 head-to-head advantage over Del Potro, the Argentinian told the ATP Tour website after his win over Haas: "I think it was my best match of the tournament, for sure.

"I played so solid on the baseline, trying to hit hard the ball with my forehand. I served well and that's what I need to do against Murray in the next round. Be aggressive all the time and find the lines with my forehands and serves."

Also in the quarter-finals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will renew their classic rivalry, with both men having survived three-set tests to make it into the last eight.

Nadal, who leads the Swiss 18-10 on head-to-head record, is 11/10 to come out on top this time around, with Federer 8/11 to book a semi-final spot.

The other last-eight matches see world number one Novak Djokovic take on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, while Tomas Berdych faces Kevin Anderson.
