Exeter Chiefs' full-back Luke Arscott is looking to pile further misery on the Aviva Premiership's bottom club Sale Sharks later this evening.

With the Manchester outfit languishing in 12th place after a dreadful season so far, Rob Baxter's men will hope to keep their own aspirations of a top-four finish alive.

Sale have never defeated the Chiefs since the West Country side's promotion to England's top-tier and Arscott believes they can continue that run.

"I think they're probably under a bit more pressure this year which helps us if we can keep mounting the pressure on them," he said.

"I think there'll be a massive intensity in the first 20 or 30 minutes and we're going to have to come out facing fire with fire.

"The pitches are starting to firm up and we're pretty glad of that to be honest. We want to play a bit of rugby now and we want to score some tries. Hopefully over the next three or four weeks we can start improving and getting a run together."

Exeter are 13/10 to secure the win, while Sale can be backed at 8/13.

The Sharks have targeted this encounter as a must-win in their battle to avoid the drop, but Exeter are also attempting to get their domestic campaign back on track.

Arscott added: "Obviously, they're going to come out all guns blazing, they've got a lot to fight for and they need to start picking up wins because they're in a relegation fight.

"We're under no illusions that we haven't got the right results that we wanted in the Premiership recently, but hopefully in the next three or four weeks we can go on a bit of a run and really start pushing up the table."
