Wenger hails 'electric' Welbeck
Arsene Wenger hopes Danny Welbeck will take confidence from his brilliant hat-trick in the 4-1 Champions League victory against Galatasaray.
The England international, who moved to the Gunners from Manchester United on transfer deadline day, scored twice before the interval and once afterwards, with Alexis Sanchez also on the scoresheet, as Wenger's team got back on track following their 2-0 defeat at Borussia Dortmund in their opening group encounter.
I didn't know he was so quick. Honestly, I knew he was quick but he can be electric when he starts - he has great pace.Arsene Wenger
Burak Yilmaz pulled a goal back for the Turkish side from the penalty spot after Wojciech Szczesny had brought him down, the Arsenal goalkeeper being sent off as a reault.
But it was Welbeck who took all the plaudits after the game, with Wenger saying: "Danny was on the end of good movements. It's good that slowly he gains confidence and finishes well. Hopefully the hat-trick will help him gain confidence.
"It always helps to know that you have a chance to play in the next game. That gives you confidence. What is good for me is that his team play is good as well. His team work and work-rate are good.
"It's not just his finishing because he wants to help the team. I believe that, technically, he's very sound. I was surprised that he's technically clean and that he's a good passer of the ball.
"And I didn't know he was so quick. Honestly, I knew he was quick but he can be electric when he starts - he has great pace."
Welbeck scored ten goals last term for Manchester United but has now scored four goals in three games for Arsenal, 1212/1 to win the Champions League this season.
The Gunners play unbeaten Chelsea on Sunday and are 16/1 to win the match 1-0 with Welbeck available at 13/5 to score at any time against Jose Mourinho's men.
