Striker Roberto Soldado has challenged Tottenham Hotspur to build on a weekend derby draw by winning at home to Besiktas in the Europa League.

Spurs have won just one of their last six fixtures in all competitions, including the 1-1 draw with Arsenal, and Soldado is keen to see his side get a win on the board, with the North Londoners having drawn 0-0 at Partizan Belgrade in their opening Group C game.

We want to qualify in first position in the group, so we need to win this game to get the three points.

He told the club's official website: "This game is really important for us because it's at home and always when we play at White Hart Lane we need to win.

"We know that Besiktas are a big team and they showed their qualities against Arsenal while playing for a place in the Champions League.

"Now we play them at home and we need a win after we drew 0-0 in Partizan. We want to qualify in first position in the group, so we need to win this game to get the three points."

Soldado is set to be handed a starting role against Besiktas, while Danny Rose and Etienne Capoue are both rated as doubts for the White Hart Lane clash, with Kyle Walker still sidelined by an abdominal problem.

Spain international Soldado will be eager to make the most of his opportunity, having netted two goals this season, but not made a single start in the Premier League.

Soldado can be backed at 9/2 to open the scoring on Thursday evening and 7/5 to score at anytime, with the forward 9/2 to net the last goal of the game.
