Rangers boss Ally McCoist is looking forward to clashes with both Hearts and Hibernian in the second tier of Scottish football next season.

The Gers are on their way back up after being demoted down to the third division, while the Edinburgh-based pair were both relegated from the to-flight last season.

It's bizarre we are all in the second tier, but that's where we are at the moment.

And the presence of three of the biggest clubs in Scotland is sure to add extra spice to the Scottish Championship, something which McCoist is clearly looking forward to.

He told the Evening Times: "The one thing the two Edinburgh teams both are though are really big clubs. There's no doubt about that and we've enjoyed going there on numerous occasions.

"We've had some great tussles at Ibrox too and I don't see next season being any different.

"It's bizarre we are all in the second tier, but that's where we are at the moment.

"That's the madness of Scottish football, but it gives us an opportunity to pit our wits against two of the country's great clubs and we are looking forward to that."

Meanwhile, Aberdeen are 50/1 to win the Scottish Premiership next season, with Dundee United 20000/1 and Motherwell 20000/1.
