Wenger: No new signings on radar

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted he is not close to making any new signings ahead of the January transfer window deadline.

Arsene Wenger is not confident of adding to his squad.

After an inconsistent start to their Premier League campaign, The Gunners currently find themselves sixth in the Premier League, four points away from Chelsea in fourth and a massive 19 points behind leaders Manchester United.

Don't forget, all Premier League matches are covered by the bet365 100% Euro Soccer Bonus, where you could earn a bonus of up to 100% on your returns on pre-match accumulator bets.

With a large contingent of the Arsenal faithful continuing to call for investment in the squad, it was expected that Wenger would move to strengthen in January, but with just days left before the window shuts, Wenger has refused to say whether new players will be arriving at The Emirates.

"Quality-wise we don't need strikers but in numbers we could be a bit short," said the Frenchman.

"I don't find strikers who can play for Arsenal in the street.

"I can't promise we will sign anybody. I'm not close to doing it."

Having been dumped out of the Capital One Cup against League Two side Bradford City, Wenger will be viewing the FA Cup as a major chance to claim some silverware this season, and following Arsenal’s 3-2 victory over Brighton in the fourth-round, the former Monaco manager was full of praise for Olivier Giroud who netted a double in the win.

I can't promise we will sign anybody.

He said: "It is very important for his confidence. He gives us presence in the box, he is dangerous and his physical presence was important today.

"In the end we showed the quality we needed to get through. In an FA Cup game you need to get through so we did our job."

Arsenal are rated as 4/11 to claim a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, with Chelsea 1/100. In the FA Cup, Wenger's men are 1212/1 to lift the trophy in May.
