Rodwell close to return to action
Former Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell is on the comeback trail for Manchester City after turning his life upside down.
Rodwell has been out since October with a hamstring complaint and has made just two starts and four substitute appearances since his £12million switch from Everton last summer.
Rodwell's injury problems were well-documented during his time at Goodison Park but City boss Roberto Mancini felt the 21-year-old was worth the gamble.

Rodwell has returned to full training this week but Saturday's clash against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium is expected to come too soon for him. City are available at 11/2 to win the match 2-0 while the Cottagers can be backed at 14/1 to return to the capital with all three points.
James Milner could be given another chance to shine in the City engine room after a man-of-the-match display in the 2-0 victory over Arsenal last time out.
But Rodwell has served noticed he is now ready to play his part in helping City retain the Premier League title and overhaul current leaders Manchester United at the top of the table. City are currently 50/1 to retain their title while United are available at 1/500 to come out on top.
The England Under-21 starlet admits: "It's been frustrating for me as I've been injured a lot, but, hopefully, I can get more fitness and get time on the pitch.
"When you sign for a new club you just want to play. You can't be negative. I'm through it now and have the second half of the season to look forward to.
"You have to rule out everything. I've changed my pillow and other silly stuff. I have changed my car. I'm also about ten minutes' drive from training now so don't have to spend a lot of time in the car."
