Mata desperate for CL return

Juan Mata says that Manchester United need to be back in the Champions League next season and so must ensure a top-four finish in the Premier League.

The Red Devils are currently in the all-important fourth and final Champions League spot in the league, but are only just ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham, with an improving Liverpool starting to move up in the standings.

This is our main objective for the season, to play Champions League again.

And Spain international and former Chelsea man Mata is desperate to make a return to the European elite, with United 1/10000 to secure a top-four finish, having missed out this season after finishing in seventh place last term.

Mata told reporters: "It's difficult to watch the games on TV every Tuesday and Wednesday. It's a thought that we all have in our minds - that we need to be back in the Champions League.

"We need to be there again. This is our main objective for the season, to play Champions League again. This club should always play Champions League football.

"It's going to be a fight until the end - not just between two teams - it could be up to five teams, who are now within a few points of each other."

United won 2-0 at QPR last time out to halt a run of three league games without a win and they are back in action on Saturday when they play host to Leicester City, hoping to gain revenge for a 5-3 loss to the Foxes in late September.

Mata and co are 4/11 to take all three points on Saturday and can be backed at 250/1 to secure full revenge with a 5-3 victory of their own.
