The fit-again Phil Jones has warned his Manchester United team-mates 'the hard work starts now'.

The Red Devils defender is enjoying being back in the fold after missing the first portion of the campaign through injury.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side face a difficult assignment when they travel to take on Swansea City on Sunday afternoon, hoping to maintain their six-point advantage over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

There is a long way to go and we're not getting carried away.

United are 8/11 to win in South Wales, with the draw 11/4, while Jones is 25/1 to open the scoring at the Liberty Stadium.

Newcastle, West Brom and Wigan are the other teams who lie in wait over the festive period and the Red Devils believe the upcoming period is also a time when they can lay down a definitive marker for the rest of the season.

Nemanja Vidic could make his first start since returning from injury and Jones insists all the wheels have to keep turning to keep City at bay.

The 20-year-old insists: "Just because we want to do it (win the title) and believe we can do it, doesn't mean we will do it though.

"There is a long way to go and we're not getting carried away. The manager talks about the Christmas period as being one of the toughest spells of the Premier League.

"We've put ourselves in a good position but we need to keep going. We need to make the most of the position we are in."
