Howe rues missed chances
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe accepted that his side need to be more clinical in front of goal following their 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa.
The Cherries spurned several first-half openings before Villa improved after the break, substitute Rudy Gestede heading home the winner from a corner.
Howe said afterwards: "I felt we dominated, especially possession and chances in the first half. If you're not clinical enough in their box and a player like Gestede comes on, you're in trouble.
It's just a shame we couldn't back it up with the result, but I thought the performance was there.Eddie Howe
"You need to be clinical at this level and we paid for our missed chances. The chances will come at a premium this year and we need to take them.
"It was a great day for the football club regardless of the result. It's just a shame we couldn't back it up with the result, but I thought the performance was there."
Gestede, signed recently for £6million from Blackburn Rovers, powered in a header 13 minutes after replacing debutant Jordan Ayew.
Earlier Dan Gosling, Callum Wilson and Marc Pugh all wasted chances for the home side.
Bournemouth's next game is against Liverpool on Monday 17th August. Christian Benteke is 10/11 to be Liverpool's top goalscorer this season, while Danny Ings can be backed at 9/1 and Daniel Sturridge at 5/2.
