Forward options impress Keegan

Kevin Keegan admits he fears the worst today for his old club Newcastle United when they come face-to-face with Manchester United's fearsome attack.

The likes of Danny Welbeck have impressed Kevin Keegan this season.

The Toon Army were boosted by the recent victory over Queens Park Rangers, but know they could be brought crashing back down to earth at Old Trafford.

It is a game that Newcastle are 28/1 to win 1-0 while Sir Alex Ferguson's team are available at 9/1 to triumph 3-1.

A potent attacking mix of Wayne Rooney, 15/4 to open the scoring, and Robin van Persie, supplemented by Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, has put Sir Alex Ferguson's team four points clear at the top of the Premier League.

And The Red Devils, 1/500 to win this season's Premier League title, will again be expected to go for the jugular against Alan Pardew's side.

Keegan, now working as a TV pundit, admits most teams would struggle to live with the options Manchester United now have up front.

The former St James' Park boss insists: "United have an enviable set of attacking options. It is a tough job keeping all those players happy.

"It's not going to be fun for any defender to play against them. It's that goal threat which sees United starting to be the real deal again and I think they are championship-winning material. United are traditionally better after Christmas, too."
