Sheffield United have bolstered their attacking options for a League One promotion bid by signing strikers Billy Sharp and Conor Sammon.
Blades boss Nigel Adkins has snapped up Sharp for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal with the option of a further year, while 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international Sammon joins on a season-long loan from Championship side Derby County.
It is a third spell at Bramall Lane for Sheffield-born Sharp, who has also played under Adkins during his time in charge of Scunthorpe, Southampton and Reading.

The 29-year-old struggled for first-team action at Elland Road after joining them for an undisclosed feel last summer which prompted Adkins to snap him up from their Yorkshire rivals.
Sammon joined Derby in summer 2012 and spent time on loan at Rotherham and Ipswich last season with new Rams boss Paul Clement agreeing to send him to the Blades for a year.
Adkins told the club's official website: "Delighted to get both players over the line and I'm looking forward to working with them.

Sheffield United are 1/1 to win League One this season, while they can be backed at 1/1 to be promoted back to the Championship at the fifth attempt.
