Real waiting on Bale

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti says Gareth Bale could miss Wednesday's meeting with Rayo Vallecano due to a foot injury.

The Wales international picked up the problem in Sunday's 9-1 demolition of Granada at the Bernabeu, scoring the opener as Real kept pace with La Liga leaders Barcelona.

That was the 25-year-old's third goal in as many games but he looks likely to be out of the side for short trip across the capital to Rayo, with Ancelotti unlikely to take a risk on the forward's fitness.

"We have had problems with Bale, who has a knock on his left foot which we will evaluate," Ancelotti revealed.

The Italian coach had already hinted he might choose to rest one of Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo or Karim Benzema after being given a boost on the injury front.

For the first time in five month Ancelotti has Isco, James Rodriguez, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos available for a game.

Rodriguez made an impressive return from a foot injury against Granada at the weekend and Ancelotti says he could play the Colombian and Isco together in future, rather than going with one or the other as he did at the start of the season.

"We have a game every three days until the beginning of May and the rotations will be necessary," he said.

"There isn't a debate between James and Isco, it is between the whole squad which is a good thing. We have almost the whole squad in optimal condition.

"James is doing very well in his first year, but Isco is also a great player who has had some fantastic games. I am lucky to have them both. It is a good problem to have."

Real, who are 1/1 to win La Liga this term, could be seven points behind leaders Barcelona by the time they kick-off against Rayo on Wednesday, with Barca facing Almeria earlier in the evening.

Los Blancos are 1/1 to beat Rayo, with their Madrid rivals 1/1 and the draw 1/1.
