Rayo swoop for Falque

Rayo Vallecano have swooped to sign Tottenham midfielder Iago Falque in a season-long loan deal.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has allowed Iago Falque to go out on loan.

The 23-year-old, who has made one appearance for Spurs, was on loan briefly to Southampton in 2012, and last season featured for Almeria who were promoted to the top-flight.

During his time at Almeria, the Spain U21 international was on the mark twice in 22 appearances and will now have the chance to test himself against the cream of La Liga.

As part of the deal, the Madrid side will have the opportunity to sign Falque at the end of the season for an agreed undisclosed fee if they wish.

This season, the fight for the La Liga title again looks to be a straight shoot-out between giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona are rated as 1/1 to win La Liga, with Madrid, who are still reportedly targeting the signature of Tottenham's Gareth Bale, 1/1.
