Blackburn manager Michael Appleton has revealed he will allow former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson to leave on loan if a suitable offer is made.

Michael Appleton will allow Paul Robinson to go on loan.

The former Leeds and Tottenham stopper has found himself on the bench for the majority of this season having lost his place to Jake Kean, and the 33-year-old is believed to favour a move away from Ewood Park in order to secure first-team football.

Speaking on the possibility of Robinson leaving, Appleton said any club who was interested in securing his services would have to be willing to pay an acceptable figure towards his salary.

"It would have to be the right club for us.

"It would have to be the right club for us in terms of what they're prepared to do in terms of salary," said the former Portsmouth boss.

"We've talked but not once has Paul said he doesn't want to play for us."

Rovers are currently 13th in the Championship and know they will have to begin to put a sustained run together if they are to make an immediate return to the Premier League.

Blackburn are 1212/1 to be promoted this season, with Leeds 1212/1.
