Keith Andrews admits Bolton need to get back to winning ways now if they're to stand any chance of making an immediate return to the Premier League..

The Whites were amongst the favourites to secure the Championship title before the campaign began, but they currently find themselves in 16th place.

If we want to mount a promotion challenge, it's got to start fairly sharpish.

The Wanderers are eight points adrift of the play-off places and eight points clear of the relegation zone after the 5-4 loss at Peterborough last time out.

Bolton host Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day and can be backed at 3/4 to take all three points, and midfielder Andrews is desperate for results to improve.

"Now we have a big game again on Boxing Day against another struggling side who will be fighting for their lives. We have to make sure we are up for that," the Republic of Ireland international told the Bolton News.

"There is no hiding place now. And if we want to mount a promotion challenge, it's got to start fairly sharpish.

"These are the games you need to be picking up points from. Our home form needs to go on a bit of a run in terms of getting three points."

Sheffield Wednesday are 7/2 to put another nail in the coffin of Bolton's promotion bid and come away from the Reebok Stadium with all three points, while the draw is priced at 11/4.

Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman has somewhat of a selection headache ahead of the Owls' visit.

Stephen Warnock has returned to Aston Villa following his loan stint, captain Kevin Davies is suspended and Matt Mills, Mark Davies, Andy Lonergan, Stuart Holden, David Wheater and Josh Vela are all injured, while in-form forward David Ngog is a doubt.
