Trail Blazers get past Bulls
With Damian Lillard out with an injury C.J. McCollum stepped up for the Portland Trail Blazers, as the visitors defeated the Chicago Bulls 124-120 in overtime.
McCollum led the way for the Trail Blazers, as the 26-year old shooting guard from Canton, Ohio scored a game high 32 points while pulling down six rebounds and dishing out eight assists for the contest.
Portland is in the thick of the middle of the Western Conference, as the Trail Blazers are currently tied for seventh in the West with the Denver Nuggets at 19-17 on the season. Portland are 80/1 to win the Western Conference.
The visitors have won six of their last ten games and look to hold position until Lillard gets back from a hamstring injury.
McCollum scored 25 of his 32 points in the second half, as Portland stormed back to force overtime.
Kris Dunn led the way for the Bulls in defeat, as the former Minnesota Timberwolves point guard scored a team high 22 points while pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out four assists for the game.
Chicago is slowly figuring out their young players and have some promise for the future. Zach LaVine completed his third straight practice and is potentially close to returning from the torn ACL he suffered last year.
The Trail Blazers will head to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers on Tuesday night to conclude their road trip while Chicago will welcome the Toronto Raptors to the United Center on Wednesday.
