Babos maintains forward momentum
Timea Babos continues to enjoy a flying start to the 2018 season, having defeated Kateryna Kozlova in the final of the Taiwan Open.
The 24-year-old Hungarian secured a first Grand Slam crown by partnering Kristina Mladenovic to the women's doubles title at the Australian Open, while she also finished as runner-up in the mixed doubles alongside Rohan Bopanna.
Babos also enjoyed a win over CoCo Vandeweghe in the single in Melbourne and she continued her fine form in Taiwan, culminating in a 7-5 6-1 victory over Kozlova.
She told the official WTA Tour website: "It's been five-and-a-half weeks, amazing five-and-a-half weeks.
"Starting with a quarter-final (at the Shenzhen Open), winning my first Slam in doubles, beating a top-10 player in singles and here winning another title in singles, it's been amazing.
"So far this season, in all my matches I've played, I've played good. I fought hard and this is what happened all week here.
"I had some difficult moments, every single match brought some difficult moments, but I was able to stay there and to manage them - this was the key for this week."
