Victoria Azarenka can't wait to face Serena Williams in the second round at Indian Wells after overcoming Vera Lapko 6-2 6-3 on Wednesday.
The two players have not faced each other for three years but Azarenka is 7/4 to win this week's encounter. A Williams victory is available at 2/5.
Former world number one Azarenka said: "It is obviously going to be a really difficult match, playing Serena it is not a second-round match for sure.
"It is going to be a huge challenge. We haven't played in three years, we haven't played since we both became moms, so it is going to be a special one."
The 29-year-old Belarusian won 10 games in a row against Lapko after trailing 2-0 in the first set.
"I was a little bit nervous at the beginning," Azarenka added. "First rounds are always tough and for me it is unusual to play someone from my country. At the beginning she played well, she started aggressive serving well, and I was a little too much on the back foot.
"Once I started to play aggressive and dictate, that's what I think turned it around."
Meanwhile, British number one Johanna Konta recorded a routine 6-2 6-3 victory against France's Pauline Parmentier and will face Su-Wei Hsieh in the second round.
Konta is 5/6 to beat the 33-year-old from Taiwan, who received a bye in the first round.
