Laidlaw returns as Townsend rings changes
Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw is back as one of six changes Gregor Townsend has made to his side ahead of their Six Nations clash against France on Sunday.
The Scots are looking for a response after they were humbled with a 34-7 defeat at the hands of Wales at the Principality Stadium in the first round.
Laidlaw replaces Ali Price in the number nine jersey, while Sean Maitland and Peter Horne also come into the backline.
In the forwards, tighthead prop Simon Berghan, lock Grant Gilchrist and back-row Ryan Wilson are also introduced to the starting XV.
Having been given a reality check in Cardiff last week, Townsend is looking forward to the home comforts of Murrayfield and is eager to see a performance from his side.
He said: "As a group we're delighted to be playing at home in front of another sell-out crowd at BT Murrayfield and are looking forward to putting in a performance that can energise our supporters.
"To do that we need to out-work the opposition and be more accurate in a number of aspects of our play.
"We've seen a response from the players in training this week and that needs to continue into and through the 80-plus minutes of the match because France will pose a massive and immensely-physical challenge."
Scotland are 4/11 to win and 11/5 to lose against Les Bleus.
