Paulo expects Moses to fit in

Junior Paulo is backing new recruit Mitchell Moses to fit right in at Parramatta.

The Canberra prop, preparing for his first away game against his former club the Eels on Saturday, expects Moses to be successful with Parramatta.

You've got to be desperate for a win, especially come this weekend against Parramatta.

Paulo, who made a move in mid-season last year to join the Raiders, knows how tough it can be when you're expected to adjust to new surroundings almost immediately but he believes the pivot will have no trouble.

"It was the same group of boys that they had there, a real tight-knit group, and I'm sure he'll slot in straight away," 23-year-old Paulo said of Moses.

Paulo has been outstanding in Canberra's indifferent run of results, averaging over 146 metres a game in 2017. However, two errors against the Knights let the hard-running forward down last weekend.

If the Raiders lose this weekend it will be four losses in a row, and that hasn't happened in the past couple of years.

Speaking of Moses, Paulo said: "If I can get the ball on the edge somewhere, I'm sure I'll be running at him but, if I get the ball, I'm just trying to run over whoever is in front of me," he said.

"We're in survival mode now. You've got to be desperate for a win, especially come this weekend against Parramatta."

When the Eels lost to Sydney Roosters last weekend it snapped a three-game winning streak that included away successes against Wests Tigers and the Cowboys.

The Eels are 7/5 to beat Canberra, who are 3/5.

Parramatta are 93/100 with a four-point start.
