Payne Haas will get the chance to impress new coach Anthony Seibold in Brisbane Broncos' trial match in Warwick on Saturday.
The big teenage prop has been named in the starting side for the game against Souths-Logan along with four other Broncos who have NRL experience.
Haas, who played three games off the bench last year before being ruled out by a shoulder injury, will start in the front row.
The pre-season meeting also features former Fijian rugby union ace Ilikena Vudogo on the bench in his first hit-out for the Broncos. The 20-year-old was the player of the tournament at last year's World Rugby Under 20s Trophy.
Seibold has named Jake Turpin (hooker) and Gehamat Shibasaki (centre), who made their NRL debuts last year, to start while new signing Richie Kennar will start on the wing in his first game for the club.
Turpin, who played two NRL games last year, said of Haas: "I play pretty big minutes but to see a 125 kg prop be fitter than us is pretty extraordinary. A lot of the young forwards are starting to look up to him and he is a young forward himself.
"It is good for me as a hooker. He plays the ball pretty quick and I can run off it. Everyone loves playing with Payne; he's got a lot of skill, he's quick and fit."
Haas made his debut in round 8 last year against South Sydney and earned a rave review from commentator Phil Gould, who said the match was "the birth of a superstar".
The Broncos have named 17-year-old Gold Coast product Tom Dearden to start at halfback.
Brisbane are 8/1 to win the grand final and 13/10 to win their first game of the season against Melbourne Storm, who are 13/20.
