Kyvalley Blur will now be aimed at the New South Wales Trotters' Mile following his win at Tabcorp Park, Melton on Saturday night.
Horseman Brent Lilley had targeted the Victorian country cup circuit with Kyvalley Blur, but has now switched his attention to the Group One that will be on the Miracle Mile card at Menangle on 24th February.
"The mile in Sydney was always an option, but I was leaning more towards the country cups," Lilley said. "He did well in New Zealand in December, and on tonight's run, he has earned another trip."
As for his latest assignment, Kyvalley Blur caused an upset by capturing the V L Dullard Cup at big odds.
Under the expert guidance of premier reinsman Chris Alford, Kyvalley Blur settled towards the tail of the field from barrier six, before unleashing a strong sprint during the latter stages to take the win.
Kyvalley Blur grabbed the front in the last stride to score by a head from Temporale, with Sky Petite five metres away third.
"I wasn't happy with his run last week when he finished out towards the back, but he's run truer to his form tonight," Lilley said.
"After getting the ideal run into it like that he was always going to finish strongly.
"He's a 10-year-old, but still racing consistently, and with a bit of luck, can add to his record before he's finished."
