Queens Advocate is heading towards the Easter Cup series following her victory in the Plunkett Family Ascot Gold Cup on Sunday night.
With Todd Rattray in the sulky, Queens Advocate put in one of her most courageous performances yet when fighting off the challenge of Black Centurian, Isaac and Star Chamber to take the win.
It continued her fine run of form under the guidance of trainer Matty Dwyer, which has seen Queens Advocate win the Launceston Mile and the Toreace Flying Mile in Hobart.
Queens Advocate has been with Dwyer for just one season, and the trainer is delighted with the way things are panning out in such a short space of time.
"She has had a year off which appears to have done her the world of good, Queens Advocate has had 12 runs for us for three wins and five placings," he said.
"She galloped out in the Devonport Cup and lost 60-metres and was beaten only 10, so she just had to go away cleanly to be a super chance, I told Todd to drive her like she was the best horse in the race and he drove her a treat.
"We will give her another run Sunday in Launceston and then all going well we will head to the Easter Cup Series."
