Connections of Bubbles And Cheese say there is more to come from their pacer as they head towards the Group 3 Alabar Golden Nursery Stakes final (1800m) at Globe Derby.
Three heats were run at the weekend and produced some strong performances from the likes of Strongnbold, who was an impressive all-the-way winner in heat one.
Bubbles and Cheese was also very impressive as she won by 14m in heat three, with Jenesaisquai holding on for second just ahead of Shesashark.
Co-owner Bob Maloney was delighted with the performance of the filly, who was not extended throughout the race, and believes there is even more to come in the final.
"She has raced against some of the best in Victoria and has not been disgraced," he told reporters after the race. "I thought she was very good tonight and expect her to prove a good chance in the final."
Elsewhere, Culture King also shone when making it two wins on the bounce when winning heat two for trainer-driver Paul Cavallaro.
Culture King finished strongly to beat Disclosure by one metre with Martys Party, four metres away in third.
Cavallaro believes his charge will be even stronger as a two-year-old but is delighted with what he is doing now.
"He is certainly getting better with racing and trials," he said. "Tonight, he sprinted home strongly with a 28.7s final quarter and hopefully he will be even better again next week."
