Zousain will return to action at Caulfield on Saturday and trainer Chris Waller has revealed a trip to Royal Ascot could be on the cards in June.
The three-year-old colt has finished second in three Group 1 races including two narrow defeats by his superstar stablemate The Autumn Sun and looks to be the one to beat in the Group 3 Zeditave Stakes (1200m).
The Newmarket Handicap at Flemington on 9th March is also on the cards and, later this year, he could be heading off to race in front of the Queen at Royal Ascot for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
"Being the son of Zoustar and having so many similarities gives me the extra confidence to think that he will win some nice races not only this prep, but throughout the rest of his three-year-old career which will hopefully include a trip to the UK for a race like the Diamond Jubilee," Waller told reporters.
"He is a very good horse and he has shown that with his three Group I placings, unfortunately running into The Autumn Sun twice.
"Looking forward to the autumn, he has come back a stronger horse. That to me would suggest he would be competitive with the older horses already."
Caulfield is the first-up assignment though and Waller is confident after he impressed in a Rosehill trial recently.
"Saturday looks like a good starting point for him. He comes into the race with a couple of good trials and he has done plenty of work left-handed in preparation for this," Waller added.
"He has got a great attitude and I think that's a big part of the Zoustar progeny along with their good looks and strength, which we are seeing week in and week out in Australian racing."
