Chris Waller has admitted another Cox Plate is on the agenda for Winx, but he would not hesitate to scratch the super mare at the last minute if all is not perfect.
Winx has come through her Queen Elizabeth Stakes romp in good order and now attention will turn to where she heads to next as she looks to make it 26 wins on the bounce.
Waller has installed a saltwater spa machine at his Rosehill stables and after Winx spent time in it following Saturday's win, the champion trainer confirmed his stable star will be racing for a good while yet.
"She was in it last night and been in it again this morning," Waller told reporters. "You have to respect them as athletes - she just can't go to England, America, France Hong Kong, Dubai or wherever you wanted to go.
"They can come here and she'll be racing for a bit longer yet.
"She'll be in the stables for a couple of days and wind down, there will a staff photo here with her just so everybody can have a piece of the history that we're seeing unfold and let her chill out for a couple of days before heading to the spelling farm."
Meanwhile, Waller refused to be drawn on future plans for the six-year-old, but the Cox Plate is in his thoughts.
"We'll just take one run at a time, we haven't said anything about where she's heading or what she's doing," Waller added.
"Sure, if she's racing well and the Cox Plate is in front of her she'll run, but if I'm not happy with her the day before a Cox Plate she won't run.
"She's got fans and they deserve to be told the truth and not be led astray from marketing or promoting fields."
Winx can be backed at 1/4 to win the Cox Plate later this year, with Humidor priced at 25/1 and Johannes Vermeer 999/1.
