Jockey Hugh Bowman believes that Godolphin raider Benbatl will be the biggest danger in the Cox Plate, although he is not ruling out any of the field.
Winx will be going in search of her fourth Cox Plate win and Benbatl suggested he could cause an upset when pulling off a gutsy win in the Group 1 Caulfield Stakes last Saturday.
The Autumn Sun, another from the Chris Waller camp, was being billed as the main danger, but after the colt was sent for a spell, Bowman believes Benbatl is the main worry ahead of the race.
"He would stand out, yes," Bowman said. "I am very respectful of him. But in saying that, I'm not going to disregard other opponents.
"Humidor, if he runs in the Cox Plate, is not maybe as consistent as some other horses but if he turns up on the day he is right up there."
Speaking after a hit out at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning, Bowman said all boxes were ticked with Winx and he was "going through the motions" with her work just to make sure she remained on track for Cox Plate glory.
"At this stage of the preparation I'm pretty comfortable that I'm just going through the motions, I'm not looking for anything, I just want everything to go smoothly with her," Bowman added.
"It's just to make sure she is feeling well and happy and nice and relaxed."
Winx is 1/4 for the Cox Plate, with Benbatl available at 10/1.
