James Cummings' hopes of winning Saturday's Blue Diamond Stakes will rest with Athiri and the Godolphin trainer says the filly is in good shape.
Cummings says Athiri, 13/2 to win the Blue Diamond Stakes, has progressed well since finishing second to Lyre in the Group 2 Blue Diamond Prelude for fillies on 9th February and hopes she can go a step further this weekend.
"Athiri has pulled up well and she looks hard and fit from her effort in the Prelude," Cummings said.
"It was a tough run out three-wide outside the leader but she's now got the opportunity to have seen Caulfield and adapted well enough to be a competitor as a Group performer.
"I think she'll be set up really nicely if she continues to have a good week."
Elsewhere, the Godolphin team will run the impressive debut winner Tassort in Saturday's Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill.
Tassort was a comfortable trial winner at Rosehill last week and Cummings believes he has what it takes to improve.
"He just got out of it what he needed to and they ambled along nicely. I think he'll improve from it," Cummings said. "He'll run in the Silver Slipper and James McDonald will ride him there."
Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Exhilarates has also pleased Cummings with her work since returning to the stable.
"Exhilarates was beautiful on Saturday morning. Kerrin actually came in and worked her for me and I was pleased to see her responding in her action and looking great," Cummings said.
"We'll probably see her in a public trial on Monday week at Canterbury."
