Spain are on the drift to win the World Cup 2018 after the shock news that Julen Lopetegui has been sacked on the eve of the summer showpiece.

La Roja are now 13/2 from 6/1 to lift the World Cup on July 15th with Portugal shortening from 15/4 into 16/5 for their opening Group B game on Friday.

bet365’s Steve Freeth “Spain had been popular and looked a rock solid third favourite with the manager yet to taste defeat since his appointment.

“However, the interest had died down after the stories of Lopetegui leaving for Real Madrid after the World Cup and the confirmed reports of his departure have seen punters scrambling for value alternatives with Portugal and Morocco the main beneficiaries.”

The Bernabeu outfit are 33/1 with bet365 to land the treble next season.
