Perez reveals Force India threats

Renault and McLaren have been identified by Sergio Perez as the biggest threats to Force India's bid for another top-four finish in Formula 1.

Mercedes have been out in front over the past four years, while Ferrari and Red Bull have been desperately trying to make up ground on them.

I think McLaren is one definitely to watch out for and also Renault as they’ve been improving a lot.

However, there has been an unofficial battle to be the next best which Force India have come out on top in over the past two seasons.

But Perez feels that there is a growing threat from Renault as they are about to embark on their third season back in F1, while McLaren have taken the French constructor's engines for 2018 after an unsuccessful three-year reunion with Japanese manufacturers Honda.

The 28-year-old Mexican driver said: "I think McLaren is one definitely to watch out for and also Renault as they’ve been improving a lot.

"I also strongly believe in Force India so it is going to be a tough battle in the midfield and hopefully we can race a lot closer to the top three teams this season and we can have a more enjoyable F1 for all of us."

Meanwhile, Mercedes are 1/4 to defend their constructors championship title in 2018, while Red Bull are priced at 200/1 and Ferrari are available at 11/4 to win.
