Pepperell wants more of the same
Englishman Eddie Pepperell is eager to enjoy the winning feeling once again, having broken his European Tour duck at the Qatar Masters.
Pepperell edged home by one shot in Doha, seeing off the final-day challenge of compatriot Oliver Fisher to register his first victory in 129 attempts on the European Tour.
This will give me confidence. When you win, you know you can win.Eddie Pepperell
And the 27-year-old from Oxfordshire already has his sights set on trying to repeat his success, telling the official European Tour website: "I felt good all day, I felt comfortable.
"I didn't feel that comfortable with my swing, but I was in a great place mentally and I kept telling myself that I'm going to win this.
"This will give me confidence. When you win, you know you can win. I've always felt and believed I will win out here, but it hadn't happened before today.
"You've always got to take that step and that's not easy, but at some point in everyone's career they've got to do something for the first time. Hopefully this is not my last."
Pepperell is another player who will be hoping to try and force his way into the Ryder Cup reckoning in the coming months.
Europe play host to the United States at Le Golf National in Paris in late September hoping to regain a trophy they lost at Hazeltine in 2016.
