Klaassen looks to Blues quality

Summer recruit Davy Klaassen believes that Everton have the quality needed to ensure they progress past MFK Ruzomberok in the Europa League.

The Toffees gained a narrow 1-0 victory in the home first leg of their third qualifying round tie at Goodison Park last week, with a deflected Leighton Baines drive separating the two sides.

If we show our quality we know we can progress.

However, Klaassen is confident that the Blues will give an improved performance in the second leg in Slovakia on Thursday, having benefitted from their first competitive outing of the new season.

He told the club's official website: "We have had the chance to play together now, in a competitive match, and that is going to help us as a team.

"The key is to know each other and understand what your team-mate is going to do with the ball. In the time I have been at the club, I have already got to know my team-mates more and more and that has proven important.

"We will be better this week than before and, hopefully, it will continue like that. We know it will be a tough game, but if we show our quality we know we can progress."

Former Ajax midfielder Klaassen is one of a number of signings made this summer by Toffees head coach Ronald Koeman, who has also brought in the likes of Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Martinez.

Everton can be backed at 1/1 to progress to the next round of the Europa League on Thursday and are 1/1 to win 1-0 in Slovakia, with a draw after 90 minutes priced at 1/1.
