Treble target troubling Buffon

Veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon says Juventus would not be disappointed if they ended this season with only the Scudetto to show for their efforts.

The Bianconeri are currently eight points clear of the field in Serie A, while they are also 3-1 up on Napoli after the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.

If we only win the Scudetto then it wouldn't be a disappointment.

Meanwhile, they are also well set to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, as they hold a 2-0 lead from the away first leg of their tie with FC Porto.

However, the vastly experienced Buffon has warned against thinking too far ahead and has warned his team-mates to remain humble in the pursuit of such lofty targets.

He told Mediaset Premium: "Treble is a challenging and difficult word to say. I think you really do need to think big, but you need to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground too.

"Nothing should be ruled out for teams like Juventus, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, but always with our feet firmly on the ground and working with a lot of humility.

"If you stay humble, no dream is out of reach, but if we only win the Scudetto then it wouldn't be a disappointment."

Juve have claimed a domestic double in each of the least two seasons, coming within a game of a treble in 2014/15, when they lost 3-1 to Barcelona in the final of the Champions League.

La Vecchia Signora are 1/25 to win Serie A this season and are 1/2 to lift the Coppa Italia, while the Turin outfit are 10/1 to win the Champions League.
