Coach Luciano Spalletti admitted that his Inter Milan side remain 'fragile', having seen their six-game unbeaten run in Serie A come to an end at the hands of Genoa.
The Nerazzurri were beaten 2-0 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Saturday and while they have not lost in recent weeks, they have now only won once in their last ten league games, with an early-season title challenge now a distant memory.
And Spalletti accepts that things are not going well for an Inter side now battling to secure a top-four finish in Serie A this season.
He told the club's official website: "We are fragile at the moment, we need to be able to grow gradually because it's not easy to turn everything around at times like this, especially when individual episodes are going this way.
"We are looking to do something different in terms of the game plan and I believe that we're heading the right direction.
"It would've helped if we had got a result to consolidate the changes made, but we can't undo everything because the changes weren't responsible for the loss."
Inter are likely to have a chance to get back to winning ways next weekend when they play host to rock-bottom Benevento.
The home side are 1/5 to win at the San Siro and are 6/1 to claim a 2-0 victory, with Inter 4/1 to win by a three-goal margin.
