Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri bemoaned his side's 0-0 draw against Inter Milan on Saturday evening as he admitted their priority is the Serie A title this season.

The Partenopei went into the game against Inter looking to make it nine successive Serie A wins this season and 14 overall including the final five matches of last term.

However, they were undone by goalkeeper Samir Handanovic's impressive performance and had to settle for a share of the spoils.

To be honest, I see my team more motivated in Serie A compared to Europe.

Despite the stalemate, Napoli remain unbeaten in Serie A and sit two points clear ahead of the Nerazzurri at the top of the standings.

Afterwards, a frustrated Sarri said: "Handanovic is an extraordinary goalkeeper, at the moment one of the best in Europe, so it was only normal he'd be extraordinary tonight."

He added: "Considering the game, the shots on target and territorial domination, we are to consider it two dropped points tonight. However, if we continue with this level of performance, few teams will be able to get points against us."

Comparing the display to the 2-1 Champions League defeat at Manchester City in midweek, Sarri suggested that his players appear to be saving their best displays for Serie A because they feel they have a better chance of winning the Scudetto this season.

Sarri said: "To be honest, I see my team more motivated in Serie A compared to Europe. We played at a high level of determination for 95 minutes, whereas in Manchester it was for 55 minutes.

"City have an extraordinary technical and tactical level, but the feeling I get is that the players care more about Serie A."

Napoli are 10/11 to win Serie A while they are priced at 9/4 to progress to the last-16 of the Champions League through Group F.
