Roma turn to Di Francesco
Roma have named Eusebio Di Francesco as their new head coach after Luciano Spalletti opted to leave the club to become Inter Milan's new boss.
The 47-year-old former Sassuolo boss played for Roma for four seasons between 1997 and 2001.
He has signed a two-year contract with Roma, who finished second in Serie A in 2016/17.
"I am extremely happy to be able to return to Roma, to coach a club that has always meant a lot to me," said Di Francesco.
"I am grateful to president [James] Pallotta and the board for this opportunity. I will give everything I have to make sure this team gets the results they deserve."
Meanwhile, Sassuolo issued a statement on their official website which read: "They were an unforgettable five years [with Di Francesco], five years of memorable victories and dreams realised.
"Every other word would be superfluous. Thank you, we just wish you a future full of success and satisfaction. You're one of us, always."
Roma are 12121/1 to win the Serie A title outright in 2017/18 while Juventus can be backed at 1/10000, Inter Milan at 12121/1 and AC Milan at 12121/1.
