AS Roma are convinced that Greece defender Kostas Manolas will remain with the club beyond the summer, despite strong interest in his services.

The 25-year-old centre-back has been linked with a possible move to England, with both Arsenal and Chelsea reported to be tracking the former AEK Athens and Olympiacos stopper.

He will stay with us for a long time.

However, Roma director of sport Ricky Massara says that there is no deal in the offing for a player who is under contract at the Stadio Olimpico until the summer of 2018.

He told Mediaset Premium: "We are happy if other clubs admire Manolas, as it means Roma have a very strong defender. He will stay with us for a long time."

Meanwhile, the player himself was also keen to cool talk of a departure from the Italian capital, with Roma currently second in the Serie A table and through to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, where they will face city rival Lazio.

Manolas added: "I still have two years on my contract for Roma, I am not thinking about the future.

"I need to focus on my work at Roma and achieving my objectives, that is all that matters."

Roma are also still involved in the Europa League, having been drawn against Lyon in the last-16 of the competition after defeating Villarreal 4-1 on aggregate in the first knockout round of the tournament.

The Giallorossi can be backed at 1212/1 to win the Europa League, with Lyon available at 14/1 and Manchester United 2/5.
