Roma close in on Feghouli
Roma head coach Luciano Spalletti has confirmed that he wants to sign West Ham United winger Sofiane Feghouli this month.
The 27-year-old Algerian moved to the Hammers from Valencia last summer but has struggled to settle at the club and has only started one Premier League match to date.
He did start on Friday in the 5-0 home drubbing by Manchester City in the FA Cup but now appears to be heading to Italy.
Spalletti is keen to strengthen a Roma side that is currently second in Serie A and 17/20 to beat Udinese next weekend.
"We are keeping a close eye on the market and the names you have mentioned so far are correct," Spalletti said.
"The focus is shifting towards Feghouli - that is true. You are writing it anyway, so there is no point disguising the fact. The other options have cooled rather.
"He is someone who will replace [Juan] Iturbe, who Torino have added to their squad. So far we have done well to cover the gaps, but playing every two or three days we are going to need to bolster our numbers a bit."
West Ham, 40/1 to be relegated from the Premier League this season, can be backed at 7/5 to win their next match against Crystal Palace.
