Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez has admitted that he would be keen to talk to Roma, if a deal can be agreed between the two clubs.

The 26-year-old Algeria international has made known his desire to leave the Foxes this summer, but as yet the club have not received what they consider to be an acceptable bid for the player.

Leicester know my thoughts, but I will continue to give my best for the club as I always have.

However, Mahrez believes that there is still plenty of time left before the transfer window slams shut for him to secure a move to the Italian capital.

He told Sky Sports News: "I know Roma came in, but nothing was accepted so there is little I can do. They are a great club who I would like to talk to, but I can't until Leicester accept a deal.

"Leicester know my thoughts, but I will continue to give my best for the club as I always have.

"Clearly, it is flattering whenever you get linked with any big clubs, but as it stands, I have not talked to anyone as nobody has had a bid accepted.

"We have nearly a month left of the transfer window, so we will see what happens."

Mahrez joined Leicester from Le Havre in January 2014 and has since scored 35 goals in 138 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands outfit.

The pinnacle of his career came in 2015/16, when his 17 league goals helped the Foxes secure an amazing first Premier League title.

Roma, meanwhile, are 10/1 to win Serie A this season, with AC Milan priced at 150/1 and Juventus available at 6/4.
