Inter confident of Icardi stay
Sporting director Piero Ausilio is confident that star striker Mauro Icardi will not leave the club this summer and could even extend his current contract.
The 25-year-old Argentina striker has been heavily linked with a possible move to Real Madrid, with Inter having seen a possible Serie A title challenge fall apart in recent weeks.
Icardi has scored 18 league goals for the Nerazzurri so far this season, having found the net 24 times in Serie A last term.
And Ausilio remains adamant that Icardi has a big future at the San Siro, telling Sky Sport Italia: "I think he'll be back (after injury) next week.
"He's always been willing and generous, but we didn't want to risk him. As I've said before, there are no problems with him with regards to his contract renewal.
"He has a long contract already and he is willing to see whether there are the conditions to do something different."
Meanwhile, another striker linked with Madrid, Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski, has played down such links, insisting that he is fully focused on helping his current club enjoy a successful final few months of the current campaign.
He told Kicker: "At the moment I do not worry about it. I'm a Bayern player and I want to give everything here first.
"If I was to think about this speculation as a Bayern player, it would not be good for me, because I would not be focused on my job here."
