Higuain praises Juventus' hunger

Matchwinning striker Gonzalo Higuain thinks he and his Juventus team-mates have regained the hunger needed to try and win Serie A once again.

Higuain, nursing a broken hand, scored the only goal of the game on Friday evening as Juve claimed a 1-0 victory at league leaders Napoli, a result which closed the gap between the two sides to just one point.

Winning a seventh straight Scudetto would be something incredible.

And Higuain, who has now scored six times in his last five league appearances, believes La Vecchia Signora are right back on track after a slight wobble last month.

He told Tuttosport: "Winning a seventh straight Scudetto would be something incredible.

"We have rediscovered the right hunger, we are sorry we didn't have it in the first part of the season. There are some regrets for that, but it's natural to have some drops in intensity."

Juventus can now be backed at 1/10000 to win Lo Scudetto for a seventh successive season, with Napoli priced at 50/1 and Inter Milan 12121/1.

Meanwhile, on-loan Juve defender Benedikt Howedes has suffered yet another injury setback and will be sidelined until the New Year by a thigh problem.

The Germany international is currently on a season-long loan from German outfit Schalke, but has been restricted to just one appearance so far this term and is highly unlikely to earn a more permanent stay in Turin.
