Higuain handed Leonardo warning

AC Milan loan striker Gonzalo Higuain has been warned by club sporting director Leonardo to focus on the job in hand at the San Siro.

The 31-year-old Argentina international has scored six goals in 15 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri since his arrival from Juventus in the summer, but has only found the net once in his last eight league outings.

He has to make a decision and take on his share of the responsibility.

That return - which is in sharp contrast to his prolific spells with both Juve and Napoli - has prompted Leonardo to tell his fellow South American to buck his ideas up, as talk of possible interest from Chelsea continues to swirl around.

He told the Italian media: "He has to make a decision and take on his share of the responsibility. Not this continual yes, no, I'm not sure.

"There's no point following rumours and gossip, he is here right now. Seeing as he is here, he needs to get down and actually do something for this team.

"A goal can change things, but if he is to continue here he needs to take on responsibility."

Former Brazil defender Leonardo was speaking at a press conference to unveil new signing Lucas Paqueta.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who has won two caps for Brazil, has moved to Milan from Flamengo.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are 7/4 to finish in the top four in Serie A this season, with AS Roma priced at 80/1 and Lazio available at 12121/1.
