The agent of in-demand Greek defender Kostas Manolas says his client is happy with Roma for the time being, but admits that a summer move could be on the cards.

The 25-year-old centre-back has been heavily linked with interest from a number of club across the continent, notably from England.

A transfer in January? There is no news there.

However, with his client under contract in the Italian capital until the summer of 2019, agent Ioannis Evangelopoulos, is cool about the prospects of a deal being done this month.

He told Tuttomercatoweb.com: "Kostas wants to do well in a Giallorossi shirt. As for the (contract) renewal, at the moment I do not know. I cannot answer that question.

"But I must add that he is happy in Rome."

Evangelopoulos had earlier stated that a big bid for his client from Arsenal was rejected by Roma last summer, telling Sport FM: "Roma refused a 40million euros offer from Arsenal for Kostas in the summer. The Gunners were really interested, but Roma's demands exceeded what they were willing to pay.

"A transfer in January? There is no news there. There is no guarantee he will move in the summer, but there will probably be some offers."

Manolas, who has won 27 caps for his country to date, has been with Roma since the summer of 2014, helping the club finish in second and third places respectively in Serie A in his first two seasons.

This term the Giallorossi lie second behind Juventus and are 1/25 to win Serie A if Juve were excluded, while Napoli are 10/1 and AC Milan can be backed at 4500/1.
