Brighton boss Chris Hughton says Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is exactly the type of player he would want to sign in the January transfer window.
The Seagulls are rumoured to be tracking the young French forward, with a bid of £18m said to be on offer to the Scottish champions.
Dembele has flourished for Celtic since joining the Glasgow giants after his contract at Fulham ran out 18 months ago.
The 21-year-old appeared 49 times in his first season at Celtic, scoring 32 times as Brendan Rodgers led the club to a domestic treble during an unbeaten season.

Dembele missed the start of this season due to a hamstring injury and has returned to score eight goals in 19 appearances for the Bhoys, including away at Paris St-Germain in the Champions League.
He was said to have attracted interest from Chelsea and Spurs during previous transfer windows and now Brighton are the latest Premier League club monitoring his situation.
Hughton admits he is a player that would fit the bill at the Amex, though he's keen to stress no deal is in place.
"He's a very good player who has had a very good season. He is not our player he just happens to be one of probably 100 names you could mention that I probably would [want]," Hughton told Sky Sports.
"But he's not our player and neither is anybody else that might be thrown into the mix."
Brighton are 20/1 to win away Chelsea on Boxing Day. Celtic meanwhile are 4/11 beat rivals Rangers in Saturday's derby at Parkhead.
