Zaha rumours annoy Allardyce
Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has played down speculation linking Wilfried Zaha with a transfer to Tottenham this summer.
It has been a difficult campaign for the Eagles but Zaha has been one of their best players and the 24-year-old was in fine form again on Saturday as Allardyce's team made it three wins in a row by edging to a nervy 1-0 victory against Watford.
Zaha has scored five goals for Palace this season while he has also on target for Ivory Coast when they beat Uganda 3-0 in January.
Former England manager Allardyce said of the speculation surrounding Zaha: "Spurs were always mentioned because agents or somebody decided to stir the pot. We all know who stirs the pot behind the scenes even though they deny it, but we know they do it.
"He gets terrible treatment off the opposition because he's so skilful. Maybe he needs a bit more protection from the referees.
"He gets kicked as much as [Eden] Hazard. But it's a compliment to you when people can't cope with your ability and have to foul you.
"Sometimes he looks a bit miserable so I say, 'Wilf, come on lad, you're the luckiest'."
Palace are now 16/1 to be relegated this season while they are 10/1 to beat Chelsea in their next Premier League match on 1st April.
