Wilshere faces race against time
Arsene Wenger is unsure whether Jack Wilshere, who missed Arsenal's 3-0 home loss to Manchester City, will be fit enough to face Brighton on Sunday.
Wilshere is struggling with an ankle injury, and Wenger said of the Gunners midfielder: "I don't know because he did not train on Thursday. We'll see how well he recovers.
"I will have to rest some players who gave a lot (against Manchester City), for sure, because we play a lot."
Meanwhile, the under-fire Wenger insists that he is not about to quit despite Arsenal's poor recent form.
The Frenchman, who has over one year left on his contract, added: "I'm always ready for a fight. I am of course very disappointed but I have experienced these situations before.
"Do I feel I can get Arsenal out of this rut? Yes of course. I have faced difficult situations in my life and it helps to deal with that.
"Of course my desire is as strong as it ever was. I have the experience and desire to change things, to continue to help the team."
Arsenal are 10 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham in the Premier League and play the first leg of their last-16 Europa League tie against AC Milan side at the San Siro next Thursday.
Arsenal are 19/20 to beat Brighton and 12121/1 to win the Europa League this season.
