Wenger reveals Giroud mindset
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claims Olivier Giroud is determined to stay and fight for his place at the Emirates Stadium next season.
The France international found himself coming off the bench towards the end of last season and with countryman Alexandre Lacazette joining the Gunners this summer, there has been speculation surrounding Giroud's future at the club.
Both Everton and West Ham have been linked with the 30-year-old, who could be tempted by regular game time in the Premier League elsewhere next term.
However Wenger has no plans to allow Giroud to move on to pastures new and says the forward himself is eager to prove his worth in north London and contribute to the Arsenal cause next season.
"Our resolution is clear because we extended his contract last year," Wenger revealed. "(He is of) great value to the squad and I think as well, he’s a great lover of the club.
"He loves the club and he's always been very determined to stay."
Arsenal are 750/1 to win the Premier League title next season, while the Gunners are 12121/1 to retain the FA Cup.
The Gunners will kick-start their league campaign on 11th August when they host Leicester City at the Emirates.
