Wenger expects bite from Tigers

Arsene Wenger has warned his Arsenal players to expect a major test of their mettle when they face an improving Hull City at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have been beaten on both of their last two outings in the Premier League, while the Tigers have sparked their top-flight survival bid into life with a draw against Manchester United and a 2-0 victory over Liverpool last time out.

This is a good test and a good opportunity to show what we are made of.

And those contrasting fortunes mean that Wenger is preparing for a difficult time when the two sides meet at lunchtime on Saturday.

He told reporters: "It has been a difficult week because we are here to win football games and when we don't we are very disappointed, but this is a good test and a good opportunity to show what we are made of.

"In the Premier League every team is absolutely difficult to beat. We have to prepare well and face a team that has more confidence than when we last played them."

Arsenal are available at 3/10 to get back to winning ways on Saturday, with the draw priced at 19/4, while the Gunners are now 6/1 to secure a top-four finish this season.

Meanwhile, Wenger has refused to accept that his side are now out of contention in the race for the Premier League title, following back-to-back losses to Watford and Chelsea.

With his side now 12 points adrift of the Blues and 2000/1 to be crowned champions, the Frenchman added: "It is never over. Even if you (the media) think it is, I don't - we can't think like that.

"We are in a pack that is very tight and the fight for every position will be massive, maybe more this season than before.

"If it is over for us, it is over for everyone else as we are all in the pack."
