Pulis happy with Hegazi deal
West Brom head coach Tony Pulis believes that new loan signing Ahmed Hegazi could prove to be a valuable addition to the Baggies squad.
The 26-year-old Egypt international centre-back has joined on an initial loan basis from Al Ahly, having previously tried his luck in Europe with Fiorentina.
And Pulis has high hopes for Hegazi, who was named in the team of the tournament for the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
He told the club's official website: "We're pleased he's here, he's a good addition. He's got good pedigree and has played for some good clubs.
"Hopefully he'll be a good signing for us. With it being a loan, if he does well, we've already agreed a final deal. It's really, really good for us."
Hegazi is the second senior arrival at The Hawthorns so far this summer, with one-time England international striker Jay Rodriguez having joined on a four-year contract from Premier League rivals Southampton.
Albion are also reported to be interested in a deal for Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia, who spent last season on loan at Hull City from Inter Milan.
West Brom, who finished in tenth place in the Premier League last season, are 1000/1 to finish in the top half in 2017/18, with West Ham priced at 33/1 and Leicester City 1/200.
